One for my favorite things about being a wedding DJ is that every wedding is different. Some weddings clients want a lot of hip hop and R&B while other clients want more old school, rock or top 40. Being an Open Format DJ I get to dig into my music collection and mix a wide variety of music. I hardly mix the same 2 songs together. I always encourage requests and never play music from the DO PLAY list.
My DJ Set up consists of 2 Technic 1200 Turntables, DJ Mixer and Wired Microphone. It connects to a 4 speaker sound system, two 1000 watt Electro Voice powered subwoofers and two 1000 watt Electro Voice powered loud Speakers. With this set up indoors, it works great for about 100 guests sitting at round tables and a medium-sized dance floor. If set up outside, it will be good for about 120 guests. Additional speakers can be added as satellite speakers to distribute the sound in a larger area with more guests.
When it comes to making announcements, they are short, sweet to the point and never over the top and cheesy. The wedding day is about you and your partner, I never try to be the center of attention. I let the music do the talking and create an atmosphere that is fun, upbeat and customized for you and your guests.
